Only 20 minutes west of the city centre is Maisa Bach Golf Club. It lies in the heart of the beautiful Alt Penedes countryside, where some of Catalonia’s best wine is produced. It’s hard to believe this beautiful and tranquil setting is close to the hustle and bustle of Barcelona city. This superb complex hosts a championship quality golf course designed by Jose Maria Olazabal, and another gentler 9 hole course for higher handicap players. There’s also a very impressive grass driving range, a huge 3 floor clubhouse with a heated indoor and outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, squash, fitness area, sauna , changing rooms, restaurant and bar. Over two million cubic metres of earth were removed to shape this demanding American style golf course. You can see Olazabal’s influence on the design, as many holes require pinpoint accuracy. The course has many hazards, with caverns, ditches and valleys lurking on most holes to catch errant shots. The spectacular 8th is the signature hole, created by slicing off the edge of a mountain side, with a lake on the edge of this right to left dogleg.

Of all the Barcelona Golf Courses Maisa Bach is the most flexible in terms of availability for bookings.
